Ánimas Defunctorum is the solo project of Lifeless, leader and founder of the Black metal band Blestema, who in 2020 decided to bring to light one of his hidden works entitled Ánimas Defunctorum, and in 2021 he released his first bass opus the Odio Eterno Producciones label, with a production limited to 100 copies on professional CD. Precisely in the year 2022, one year after his first opus, he decided to release a second production entitled Necropolis Nebulosa digitally from his profile on the digital platform. With a duration of 41 minutes, it presents 4 songs of his suicidal and dense Black Metal. The speed is not the main characteristic of his music, but its slowness and gloom, and it is possible to notice an exaltation of contemplation and depressive despair in his music. We could then infer from their particular sound some influences from Black Metal as in the best times of Bethlehem, Aaskereia and Burzum, going through the depressive tendencies of the beginning of the century like a Wigrid or a Sterbend. Necropolis Nebulosa is made up of 4 long tracks, with titles in Latin language, such as Infortunatus Argentum Clavicula and Consolatio in Tristi Aeternitate, the latter lasting no more than 14 minutes. A clean production, with simple acoustic drums and a real and sincere sound. It may have some points in common with Blestema but the music is more contemplative and less aimed at satisfying eager ears, the main differences lie in the vocal technique and a more abundant use of strings. Fluid and changing compositions, aggressiveness in the voice, creativity when it comes to using the classic resources of the genre such as guitars tuned in standard E. One of the highest level productions that were published the previous year in the Black Metal of Colombia, with little publicity and quite restricted to the public with little knowledge. If you like Black Death Metal this recording is not for you. Recorded during the year 2022 in Lifeless's home studio, photography and graphic art were done by Lifeless, and the logo is also the work of the same artist from Medellín-Colombia, definitely a tribute to individualism in Black metal.
