The latest release by Widar's fantastic project is yet another EP.
This EP is not a new release in any way, since it was recorded somewhere between 2008-2010 (as Widar puts it: "the missing link between Wotansvolk and Wotan Revividus", or the cursed EP, as I call it). So, in a way, this is a B-sides album.
The intro and outro are the usual German ambient/electronic tracks, nothing that interesting (although the outro piece has a nice overall ambiance).
The first song, "Home", first appeared on a single in 2017, although that had a different production (maybe it was a rehearsal). Even though its kinda cool, you have to admit the 2017 version is way better!
The most interesting song of the album is "Behind the Ice". This one is definitely from the Wotansvolk sessions, it has the same fantastic epic atmosphere.
The last song is a bit meh to be honest.
All in all, it's worth it just because of "Behind the Ice".
