Enthroned is a true blackmetal horde that I ´m into since their picture split 7´´ep with Ancient Rites and this album is brutality unleashed.Fuckin´epic record.

Ah, this little gem. I had totally forgotten about this album, as Enthroned have been around for so long I've kind of got used to their more standardized and somewhat modern approach to black metal of recent times, but relistening to Prophecies of Pagan Fire now I can happily recall how this has a lot more natural feel and greater depth, and also a true classic.

I still like their newer, more polished stuff, but this has to be their best album to date.

Carrying the banner of true black metal, but without overdoing it ;) just right
