Black metal + war history= perfect matches. It have, for me, completely become a new subgenre who start with band like Marduk but now we have plenty of pearl of this genre like Wolfkrieg and Kanonenfieber and a lot of other great band of this kind.

And now I know that your are saying that Wolfkrieg is pagan and Marduk is classic black metal, and you are right, but all war black metal band are returning to one emotion, one sound, and that's why they are all related and are part of the same subgenre in my opinion. I also think that war black metal and bestial black metal is not the same. For example, Archgoat is bestial and Wolfkrieg is war, because Archgoat doesn't talk about war and because we doesn't feel it in the music.

Being a great fan of this genre, i will like to discover other pearl of the genre and speak about them. So, let's give us some of our favorite band/album of this genre. My personal top 10 album will be this:

1. Panzer Division by Marduk (of course)
2. Another Battle by Wolfkrieg
3. Battlefield by Wolfkrieg
4. Menschenmuhle by Kanonenfieber
5. Frontschwein by Marduk
6. Volkslieder by Minenwerfer
7. Imperial Grand Strategy by Operation Winter Mist
8. Antichrist Militia by Front
9. 1916 by Azziard
10. The Blind Leading the Blind by 1914

That's a good topic, from your list I've only really listened to a few of them, notably Marduk, Kanonenfieber and Minenwerfer (but only Minenwerfer's latest full-length), so I've added the others to my wishlist to check out at some point.

Here are some others in the same theme that come to mind that I've encountered over the years, in no particular order:

Endstille - Dominanz
Sammath - Triumph in Hatred
Cirith Gorgor - Der Untergang
Deströyer 666 - Defiance
Spearhead - Decrowning the Irenarch
Antichrist Siege Machine - Purifying Blade
Disiplin - Disiplin
Ad Hominem - Climax of Hatred

I keep meaning to check out more of Endstille, and also Sammath's latest albums which should be promising.
