Hello everyone.

I am writing to you from Portugal to present my Blog & Fanzine, Utopia Platafórmica (www.utopiaplataformica.blogspot.com). Also present on Instagram (utopia_plataformica_zine) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/utopiaplataformica)

The Blog was born before the Fanzine; however, given the amount of work that is necessary to keep a Fanzine running, I decided to go back to the virtual format, leaving the physical one for better - and lighter - days. Nonetheless, 5 editions of the Fanzine were released, each one with 5 interviews, focused on Black Metal and Punk Oi/Hardcore.

The Blog is more review/article oriented at the moment, but I still post plenty of interviews whenever work/life allows me to jump into something more demanding. Besides having this small “business”, I write for several Webzines, solely reviewing Black Metal releases, given it is the genre I listen to the most. Will try to keep this post updated as I post stuff on the Blog.

Hope you give it a go and enjoy the work.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

Hello all.

During the month of August, several Black Metal releases have been reviewed for the Blog.

Decayed - "From Hell" (Haloran Records, 2023)

Recorded in 2008, “From Hell” is a re-recording of some of the band’s classics like “Fuck Your God”, “HellWitch”, and “Drums of Valhalla”, along with a cover of one of my favorite Sodom hymns, “Blasphemer”, and a new track, exclusive with this release, “Infernal Waves”, by the “Hexagram” line-up.

Fallen Temple Records

Vonulfsreich - “Miasmal Winds”
Plague God - “New Veins for Old Blood Master”
Illum Adora - “Non Serviam Black Metal (The Demos)”

Hello all.

My most recent post focuses on older - 2022 - releases from Immortal Frost Productions, a Dutch Black Metal label that is quickly becoming one of my favourites at the moment.

Today's reviews are:

Mara - “Loka Maer”
Muert - “Haeresis”
Frostmoon Eclipse - “Rustworn”

Nice mate, by the way, you don't need to use [url] tags for plain links, it will automatically make them clickable. [url] tag is only for when you want to customize the link text. cheers

Hello.
Oh ok, thanks.
I am used to old forums eheheh
Cheers!

Hello all.

https://utopiaplataformica.blogspot.com/2023/09/teufelsberg-pakt-mit-dem-teufel-signal.html

Teufelsberg - “Pakt Mit Dem Teufel“ (Signal Rex, 2023). Exquisite Old School Polish Black Metal.

Hello all.

The Return..........

https://utopiaplataformica.blogspot.com/2023/09/spellsword-night-of-grail-nox-liberatio.html

Spellsword - "Night of the Grail", by Nox Liberatio Records; Portuguese Epic Black Metal.

Hello there.

https://utopiaplataformica.blogspot.com/2023/10/sonneillon-demon-of-hate-masters-of.html

Sonneillon “The Demon of Hate” (Masters of Kaos Productions, 2023)

"I dare say (some) people have no real notion of how good the Portuguese Black Metal scene actually is; it is a very dynamic and diversified scene, which is what gave it the dimension it has today...".

Hello.

Aussie Black Metal Master, Azgorh, recently released 2 new EPs that are perfect examples of his craftsmanship. Not only did he perfect his Black Metal side, he also added something else to his music.

Head on over to the Blog and read all about it.

Cheers.

this guy puts out so much material it's quite staggering, and runs his own record label on the side

Agree. His music is quite special, in my opinion.
There is more than just music in his work... this might be seen as a childish perspective of the genre ahahah

Hello everyone.

Updates on https://utopiaplataformica.blogspot.com.

First off, an overview on this year's Invicta Reqviem Mass, in Porto.
Getting close to this year’s finest UG Black Metal gathering, are we? Oh yes, we are! I was quite curious about who would the lads in Signal Rex select for their 7th Black Mass, and what a nice bill it say, I say.

Afterwards, I move on to Black Grail.
Black Grail is a band from Santiago, Chile, and like many Black Metal bands from this part of the World, their work revolves around mysticism and a very prominent ritualistic existence. South American bands have always taken their Black Metal very seriously… and we like it.

As closure I head on over to Pittsfield, New Hampshire, United States of America, for a new blast of Black Metal with Pyrgosia.
Pyrgosia plays Black Metal, a powerful specimen of the genre. Melodic riffs that fuse with strength and fury!

Hello there.

The other day I ran into an Italian Black Metal artist that, according to what I read, was inspired by Bathory and Mediterranean Extreme Metal, with hints of a classy Crust Punk.

Well, this sounded very interesting, so off I went. Marthe is the name, and Bathory inspired Black Metal is the game! "Blood Fire Death" Bathory, that is. Anyway, it sounded weird and misplaced, especially when this artist came from a Heavy Doom Metal band, but... in the end it makes perfect sense.

With that... I present to you Marthe, a one-woman Black Metal band. Classy, classy, classy...

Hello there.

Back with 2 more releases from 2023:

- Sorathian Dawn “Radiant Terror” (Unsigned/Independent, 2023).

- Decayed / Velório “The Devil Made Us Do It” (Nekrogoat Heresy Productions, 2023).

Hello again.

New entry on the Blog, this time Salacious Gods.

Salacious Gods comes to us from The Netherlands, and they are something special, just like the majority of Dutch Black Metal.

Head on over to Utopia Platafórmica and read more about it: https://utopiaplataformica.blogspot.com/2023/11/salacious-gods-oalevlukk-hammerheart.html

Hello there.

Close of the end of the year we are, and here are some 2023 releases from the Black Metal side of the spectrum.

First off, a look into 2 releases that came out on Immortal Frost Productions: Infernal Angels, "Shrine of Black Fire", and Cryfemal, "La Gran Victoria del Mal". Two very different approaches to Black Metal.
Moving on, we have Hjaal's “Bastion of Fear”, and KING's “Fury and Death”. Again, two different perspectives of Black Metal.

To close it, Salacious Gods “Oalevlukk”. Another great example of how good the Dutch Black Metal scene is. Take a look if you have not yet.

Up next, new releases from Signal Rex and some more Black Metal 2023 releases. Check the Blog, go on Instagram or Facebook, read, enjoy, check the bands, hail Satan and sacrifice a few lambs and black chickens before the year is over.

Thank you very much for your time. May 2024 be as demonic as 2023.
