I just have a few questions for all Lycanthropia comunity, not only to keep it active but also because I'm concerned about my preferences and i also wonder if it's just me.
Here are the questions ;

1) Am i the only one who prefers some albums to be on Vinyl/CD/Tapes rather than CD/Tapes/Vinyl ? For exemple ; I personally prefer Deathcrush - Mayhem to be on vinyl to keep some sort of 80's/Vintage vibe. And would like Grausamkeit to be on tape rather than CD or Vinyl. (I hope you get what i'm saying.)

2) Do you think it's a good thing that some TikTok teens discover black metal through it ? Tell me why.

3) What is your favourite underground band ? You can tell me a bunch of bands (do not stop to just one). Personally I love Faidra, it's a small one-man band that has two good albums, one being in my top 10 "6 voices inside", there's also "Abyssal Portrait" which only has one demo and is honestly very good demo if you like some raw sounding black metal. You can both find them on spotify.

Respond to the question by putting just the number and then your text ;
exemple :
2) "........"
You can respond to as many questions as you want and even ask me if you want, have a nice day !

good questions, and welcome!

1) totally agree, and it definitely depends on the band and the album, but generally speaking I prefer to see 80s stuff on tape, and most stuff after that on vinyl, even if I don't actually own a record player myself, I find vinyls just so much more aesthetically pleasing and appropriate. I like to see CD for certain 90s releases, including some things which are "classic" by this point, such as Darkthrone stuff.

2) I do not like TikTok as a concept, at least in the west, from my understanding the algorithms are designed intentionally for the sole purpose of provoking distraction, procrastionation or just outright brainrot among adolescents. but if some people can still use it for productive purposes, or inspiration, such as discovering new music, that's great.

3) off the top of my head, probably Bölzer

cheers!

1- I personally believe that early analog stuff sounds good on tape and vinyl. If you record though an analogue desk nothing beats vinyl and it lasts for years if looked after. Tapes degrade collect dirt (not as simple to clean as vinyl or CD's) and jam up over time
Digital sounds best on CD or if it has a heap of layering (5.1/7.1 or Atmos 9.1) DVD or Blu-ray
Digital only really sounds good on LP if it has specifically been recorded in a format suitable for LP and has a bit of skill involved to make it sound great. The sound engineer really has to know his shit if he wants it to sound anywhere near as good as it would on CD . A lot of LPs today are just a copy of the basic CD recording and just don't sound that great.

2 - What the fuck is a TikTok I'm 52 years old I'm still getting used to a clock on my phone. Ha. Just kidding. If it gets them into black metal and keeps them off tiktok then all good.

3 - Faidra is good. I like the first album. Very Burzum.
Spotify is not my thing. If you want to go more underground SoundCloud is probably the way to go. I spend most of my music time on Bandcamp as it has a great format no fucking adverts and has a huge variety.
Yeah well off the top of my head my favourites at the moment for underground would be Sea Mosquito, Ultha, Turia, déhà, Solbrud, Afsky ... Many many more.. most of the music I listen to us underground check out my Bandcamp page the link is in my profile if interested also there is a link to my SoundCloud .
So many great bands out there. Get exploring..
Hopefully this helps. Stay cool.

1. I totally agree, I love seeing older stuff on vinyl and I feel like some newer releases (late 90s forward) I enjoy on CD and stuff like that.

2. I think it's ok as long as they don't take it in the wrong way. They don't take it too far yet they also don't turn into posers, pretending like they care just to have friends.

3. I really like a lot of different bands, It'd be hard to choose just one. Maybe Ultha? I like Maleficentt if you'd consider that with it

I do prefer analogue recordings, there is something about the overall sound. That brings a vibrant freshness to music, recently I've been listening to a lot of early music by Venom, the clarity is awesome. So much energy in their music.

1. I prefer my releases physical or at least ripped from physical releases. Honestly (and bear in mind I'm into my 20s and came into BM from other subgenres so I may be biased), CDs is my preference if only because even the first CDs were reference quality vinyls and I'm a sucker for submelodies. But with black metal that rawness does lend itself well to vinyls I admit.

2. Don't use tiktok so I can't speak for it but as some other people said, as long as its not an aesthetic to them with the music complimenting the look and they respect the music I don't mind them doing what they will.

3. Though not pure Black Metal, I like Rituals of the Dead hand a lot at the moment. Their focus on lyrical subject matter, the atmosphere of their releases, and the general imposing air of evil brought on by the doom influences makes for a good combination.
