BestBlackMetalAlbums.com celebrates its first anniversary with dozens of new features, a brand new design, and over 600 more albums added to the database.

Massive site update
Massive site update

Almost one year after the site's first inception, we have decided to give BestBlackMetalAlbums.com a much needed overhaul, not only giving the site a complete re-design, but also incorporating countless new options to help users while browsing our growing Black Metal album database.

Most important of all is the all new Search feature, which works in a similar fashion to any standard search box. Just type in the criteria you want to filter, (album title, band name, country, year, subgenre, song title, etc...) and all matching albums will be shown in the results.

It should be noted that the search box will return every album that matches each word, even matching song titles... (for example, searching for The Forest will return all albums containing 'The' and all albums containing 'Forest') so if you want a more specific search we recommend you either use "comment marks" or try out one of our new Quick Search filter options. You can now specifically choose from a full list of either Black Metal Bands, Years, Subgenres, or Countries.

Another major improvement is the option for users to contribute their own Black Metal albums and even news. Just click on the Contribute option from the upper menu and fill out our Contribution Form. Another addition is the Comment & Rating system, where users can leave a comment and rate any album.

What else? Ah yes! Each page has a Share toolbar for you to help spread the word on your preferred social networks - the more the merrier. We encourage you to bookmark us and keep visiting the site as often as possible, as we will constantly be adding new Black Metal albums, news and reviews.

Some of the other new features included are the Recommended Album box on the front page which will randomly show one of the very best Black Metal albums, and the Top 10 Black Metal Albums sidebox which is updated automatically as new albums are included in our database. Also, beneath each album's detailed profile page there is a Recommended Albums box which shows up to five albums similar to the one being viewed, so you can always find new recommended material you might like if you already own a certain album.

That's about all for now, we don't want to keep you waiting too long as you probably want to start browsing the new site, which by the way now has over 600 new albums in addition to the original Top 100 Black Metal Albums that we included in the first version of BestBlackMetalAlbums.com. With your help we hope to reach over 1,000 albums by the end of the year. Also, expect additional site improvements over the coming weeks, such as Polls and our very own home-made Band Wallpapers.

Last but not least, be sure to contact us with any feedback or suggestions via our Contact Form.

Enjoy!

Looking good

Yes, I agree with Harosh; it is looking good. I like the way the field boxes in the comments section glow.
