Austrian Epic / Atmospheric Black Metal warriors Summoning have recently announced that they have just finished writing material for a new album and will soon enter the studio to begin the recording process. This will mark their seventh full length album, and their first studio recording in six years since the release of "Oath Bound" in 2006.

The new album is still untitled, although the band has revealed that there will be a total of eight songs, and that the release date is scheduled for early 2013 through Napalm Records.

Summoning formed in 1993 in Vienna, Austria, and since then they have also released four demos and two EPs in addition to their impressive six full length albums. Summoning are well known for their unmistakable sound and particular approach to Black Metal which has been labeled as a hybrid of Epic, Atmospheric and Ambient. The band's lyrical concepts focus heavily on the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien, specifically the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Stay tuned for further updates regarding the release of Summoning's next album.
