Leading up to their 11th full length album, Greek Black Metal legends Rotting Christ will be releasing a compilation album on the 8th of November featuring six songs from some of the band's early demos.
One of Greece's first Black Metal bands, Rotting Christ will soon be releasing a compilation album featuring six songs from their early years, taken from three of the band's demos. The compilation album is titled "ΑΠΟΚΑΘΗΛΩΣΙΣ", or "Apokalypsis", and is due to be released on the 8th of November through NWN! Productions.
The six songs to be featured are the following:
- The Nereid of Esgalduin
- Vicious Joy and Black Delight
- Fgmenth, Thy Gift
- The Fourth Knight of Revelation (I & II)
- Visions of the Dead Lovers
- The Mystical Meeting
The first two tracks are from the "Dawn of the Iconoclast" 7" from 1992, tracks 3 and 4 are from the "Ade's Winds" demo, also from 1992, and the last two tracks are from the "ΑΠΟΚΑΘΗΛΩΣΙΣ" 7" released in 1993.
This compilation album comes ahead of the band's upcoming full length album, supposedly titled "Thousand and One Nights in Hell" (according to their Facebook banner). Details about the new album remain scarce, although only hours ago the band published an update regarding the matter on their official Facebook profile:
We proudly announce that the recording session for our new album is close to the end. A hard but majestic simultaneously trip for more than 4 months in Deva Soundz studios, Athens, have found the band creating maybe its Darkest and more Mystical and Occult outcome ever. Stay tuned for samples and updates.
Rotting Christ was founded in 1987 in Athens, Greece, by brothers Themis Tolis and Sakis Tolis, and have since become one of the world's most renowned and successful Black Metal bands, having released a total of 10 full length albums and countless demos and compilation albums.
Stay tuned for further updates regarding the release of the "ΑΠΟΚΑΘΗΛΩΣΙΣ" compilation album, as well as details regarding the new full length studio recording.
