The new song is titled "Drawn Astray", and is the third track from their upcoming album, "A Distant Fire", which is due for release on the 8th of October.
Cascadian Black Metal band Alda will be releaseing their next full-length album, titled "A Distant Fire", on the 8th of October through German label Eisenwald. While we wait, another song from the album is now streaming online. Check out "Drawn Astray" below:
Some new artwork accompanies the song:
The image included with this release is another painting by Second Nature Artwork - Craig Strother, and one of a series that will be included in the physical release of the album. These paintings depict the impact of a forest fire in a single location, and represent the process of destruction and regeneration that comes with the fire.
Here's a closer look:
The cover art for the new album was also designed by Craig Strother of Second Nature Artwork:
"A Distant Fire" will mark the band's first album in over six years, and fourth album overall. The complete tracklist is as follows:
- First Light
- Stonebreaker
- Drawn Astray
- Forlorn Peaks
- Loo-Wit
- A Distant Fire
In case you missed it, the song "Stonebreaker" was already made available last month:
Alda formed in 2007 in Tacoma, Washington, and are one of the pioneers of "Cascadian Black Metal", a loose collective of atavistic nature-themed bands based in the Pacific Northwest region known as Cascadia, including the likes of Wolves in the Throne Room, Agalloch, Skagos, Fauna and Addaura.
"A Distant Fire" will be available in digital format, limited Digipak CD, limited cassette (3 different colours) and 180g vinyl LP, although the latter will be delayed beyond the initial release date due to logistical issues at the factory. Check out the link below for pre-orders:
