The new album, titled "Origins", will be released through Season of Mist on the 24th of June, marking the project's fifth full-length album.
Andy Marshall, mastermind behind Scottish Folk/Black Metal act Saor, has just revealed the details for the project's next studio album, which will be titled "Origins", and is scheduled for release on the 24th of June via Season of Mist. Together with the announcement, the label premiered a music video for the album's title track, check it out:
Season of Mist commented briefly on the path Andy has taken with Saor so far, and what to expect with "Origins":
SAOR means free, without obligations, unconstrained. All of these characteristics are intrinsic to the music of SAOR, the musical entity spearheaded by sole member Andy Marshall. As a lone wanderer proudly shouting the tales and myths of his people, his culture and his region from the tops of misty Caledonian mountains for the wind to carry, Andy has carved a solitary, yet strikingly inspiring path with SAOR.
Now, the award-winning Caledonian metal pioneer has returned with 'Origins,' the mastermind's fifth full-length album that delivers his profoundly atmospheric hybrid of black and folk metal that takes the listener deep into the Scottish heartlands.
"Origins" will feature the following tracklist:
- Call of the Carnyx
- Fallen
- The Ancient Ones
- Aurora
- Beyond the Wall
- Origins
The artwork was designed by French drummer and artist Anaïs Mulgrew:
The album is now available for pre-order in digital, cassette, digipack CD and vinyl gatefold LP formats via the Season of Mist shop:
