The song is titled "Die Nacht droht fyschter mir", and is the fifth track from the band's upcoming debut album, "Tyrannemord".
Swiss Black Metal mystics Ateiggär are putting the finishing touches on their upcoming debut full-length album, "Tyrannemord", which is due for release on the 28th of October via German label Eisenwald. While we wait, one of the album's songs is scheduled to premiere later today via the label's YouTube channel, check out "Die Nacht droht fyschter mir" below:
"Die Nacht droht fyschter mir", the album's fifth track, translates to "This Dark Night Threatens Me". Eisenwald commented on the lyrical themes of the song:
A traitor has been sentenced to death by burning at the stake. The night before the execution, the Emperor who sentenced the agitator is tormented by a ghost appearing in his dream, proclaiming his imminent murder. When checking on the prisoner, the Emperor finds him sleeping peacefully in his cell, dressed in precious garments, his guard lying at his feet. The roles have reversed, the Emperor, still roaming free, has become a prisoner of his own fate.
Regarding the album as a whole:
Thematically, “Tyrannemord” is a fascinating account of the assassination of Leo Armenius, the fifth of his name and ruler of the Byzantine Empire. Occurring in the palace chapel of St. Stephen during midnight mass in the year DCCCXXX, Ateiggär draws influence from the writing of German poet and playwright Andreas Gryphius, providing a fittingly epic and dramatic lyrical underpinning to the music on display.
"Tyrannemord" will feature seven tracks in total:
- De dunkli Ort
- En stille Feind
- Iserni Plag
- Us Lyschegiftig Schlaf verwached
- Die Nacht droht fschter mir
- Chron' und Tod
- Din Lyb ziert de Altar
The cover art was designed by Swiss artist Cinthia C. S, also known as Dungeoncinth:
"Tyrannemord" will be available soon for pre-order via the Eisenwald store, or alternatively the Ateiggär Bandcamp page:
