Rare Black Metal archive at Neseblod Records in Oslo, originally known as the famous "Helvete" shop owned by Euronymous, was mostly lost in the blaze.

Neseblod Records, originally 'Helvete' in Oslo, Norway, was damaged by fire. The blaze apparently started in the record store’s basement. The late Euronymous (Mayhem) used to own it back in the day. The current owner turned it into a black metal archive, a museum of sorts, and keeping the historical black metal graffiti on the wall that became a famous backdrop for many band and fan photos. A go fund me page has been created to help the owner try and restore what he can.

“I have been working with many Norwegian Black Metal bands over the years and Neseblod Records (Formerly Helvete) in the heart of Oslo, it has been part of the scene since the beginning of this unique musical movement, and is the heart & Spirit of the genre.

A fire ripped through the basement and shop last night destroying an archive of rare Black Metal History!, I am starting this Go Fund Me to help Kenneth get back on his feet.”

Hope they manage to salvage as much as they can!!!

I'd definitely be interested if they decided to raise some funds by selling some smoke damaged items that are too good to dispose of. I hope that they have some sort of contents insurance. But I guess a lot of the irreplaceable merchandise was priceless and beyond cash value which is a huge historical loss to the metal community. I really wanted to travel to Norway one day and this place was (and hopefully still is) on my bucket list.
I had a friend who had over 1000 CD'S the majority early Black Metal. He tried to get them insured and the insurance company wanted a ridiculous amount of money each year and would only payout a max of $3 per CD. And they would require photographic evidence to prove what he owned. It wasn't worth it. But I suppose that it would be different if you were in business.
