The song is titled "Abyssal Tower", and is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Cult of Uzura", due for release on Transcending Obscurity Records.
After signing with Transcending Obscurity Records, French Black / Death Metal act Skaphos are putting together a brand new album, titled "Cult of Uzura". There are no specific release details so far, but one of the songs from the new album is now available for listening on the label's channel, in the form of a music video for the track "Abyssal Tower", check it out:
The label and band both commented briefly on the record deal, the band's style, and the album's themes:
We're thrilled to work with the French band Skaphos, who've upped the ante on their new album. I always felt they had the potential to evolve and get better and they have most certainly done that on this one. They're playing savage, punchy and merciless black/death metal which is spiked with dissonance and steeped in mysticism. The result is a well-rounded and thoroughly satisfying expression of black/death metal that also happens to be insanely heavy.
Band's statement, "Cult of Uzura is the blooming of SKAPHOS into something more modern and violent. Recorded and mixed by Nathan Faure and mastered by Thibault Chaumont, SKAPHOS's third album is the embodiment of the ocean's rage and human madness.
Thanks to Kunal Choksi of Transcending Obscurity who signed us, we're more than happy to have the opportunity to spread our music Worldwide.
All shall be one with the sea.
