Do som hater Gud og kristent liv...

At first, when I was just starting to get into the world of Extreme Metal, I listened to Nemesis Divina but there was a detail, I didn't like it in any way... I was so wrong, too much!!
Some time ago I listened to it again to give it a chance... I felt the magic of the album from start to finish with some lyrics that talk about the arrival of Christianity in Norway, destroying all belief, and with the arrival of death to unknown lands
Ending with the eponymous song from the Album... (Nemesis Divina)
A protest and hatred for Christianity already reflected in the theme (Du Som Hater Gud). How I love Satyricon's instrumentals up to this point... A great talent in the band... But even more because.
They invited Nocturno Culto, an iconic figure of Black Metal... What more could you ask for... It's a masterpiece by Satyricon... (Mother North) this song in particular is the best known and most iconic of the band... I have I have to say that I feel a sensation of great nostalgia and with a gesture of wanting to cry, the song was so impressive in me that it does not leave my mind...

1996 was a great year, consolidated with the 3 great works of that year... Burzum with Filosofem, Dimmu Borgir with Stormblåst and Satyricon with Nemesis Divina, and I know very well that there are more incredible works with some serious examples of Aura Noir, Marduk, Dark Funeral, Setherial, Borknagar, Falkenbach and Gorgoroth...etc. You get my point.

There is a part of the People who will say that his Masterpiece is between Dark Medieval Times or The Shadowthrone... I mention them again... I can't help it... You have to know that for me I consider Nemesis Divina as his work Teacher... I would have to say that you listen to it to understand it, seeing from my point of view to see if I'm right or I'm wrong... But in the end, this would be my humble opinion of this Wonderful Album.

Mother North, your fields are bleeding! Brilliant for that song alone I agree

Near perfect album. This one really marks the height of Norwegian black metal.

this is the greatest album i've ever owned, love every second of it

Well I've been going through this site all afternoon, and I'm glad I stumbled across it because it's not only brought me back some fond memories from the golden era of black metal such as Nemesis Divina (FUCKING AWESOME) but it's made me realize some of the modern black metal is also worth checking out and one shouldn't lose faith in the evolution of the genre (The Ruins Of Beverast being the perfect example). That's what makes black metal magic, old bands innovating black metal and new bands playing old school black metal, giving way to some fantastic albums every year. HAIL BM

Satyricon is better than Immortal and Bathory? Really?

mother north is genius but the rest of the album is good too.

This is a perfect album and th eone that I always enjoy without being bored as this is simply impossible with this Black Jewel..

An absolutely perfect album. Everything about it is memorable, it sounds great (I'm not a believer in the lo-fi aesthetic most BM albums have), musicianship is out of this world, and balances the symphonics and guitars masterfully. Nothing sounds out of place and bogged down. Satyr, Frost, and all the other session musicians are fucking relentless on this album and they never let up one bit. The Dawn of a New Age is a killer, but the title track is nothing short of a masterpiece.

I don't know what they see in this album. I find the decline of the band in this work. Their best albums are Dark medieval times and The shadowthrone. But, of course, this is a lot better than the following.

Fucking amazing but Now Diabolical, Dark Medieval Times, The Age of Nero deserves top 100 too.

A serene, vicious, assault with memorable songs and tons of serpentine melodies.

Nemesis Divina is far closer to the style of its predecessors (Dark Medieval Times and The Shadowthrone) than anything the band has released since.
