With Doom We Come

Not their finest hour!

Warning! These next few lines that I'm about to write may sound like just an opinion instead of a full review, and that's absolutely right!

Personally, I like most of the Summoning albums, but I wouldn't re-listen to most of them! At some points, they sound overlong and uninspired, but we forget those moments because of the other epic riffs and melodies.

All this said, I listened to this album twice and couldn't really enjoy it that much. I found it very uninspired (and a bit boring to be honest!). However, there is a beast of a track here. "Herumor"! What an insane piece of music. This song is probably one of the best Summoning songs ever, despite being overly repetitive. I guess a good riff has the capacity to be repeated for a long time.

Though, this song alone can't save this album. Sorry! It just isn't enough. The last two songs sound almost like a new age song! The first couple of songs have the same sort of base riff, and don't feel that special, to be honest.

Yeah, that's basically it for me! "Herumor" is the only good thing about the album! The rest kinda sucks! Maybe I don't get it, but I have a strong feeling that this is not very good compared to the other stellar releases by this band.
