Crust Punk never sounded this awe-inspiring!

Most people don't like Crust Punk thanks to some of the weaker, more famous efforts like Darkthrone's Crust trilogy, or the shitty Extreme Noise Terror albums! But that's not fair! There were some badass crust albums in the 80s, like "The Rise of the Serpent Men" by United Kingdom Axegrinder or "Behind the Realms of Madness" by United Kingdom Sacrilege, which were more Thrashy rather than Hardcore Punk oriented. I'm happy to say this band is one of the latter options!

War//Plague is one of the most differing bands out in the metal scene. They have three stellar full-length releases so far, but people are hardly aware of their existence! They successfully mixed the old school Crust/Thrash combination of bands mentioned above with more doomy (or Epic Doom) influences, with a hint of Avant-garde music as an ice-breaker!

The first release is a stellar debut. The attitude and the lyrical approach is very much a rebellious, blasphemous protest! The intro and outro pieces draw a fantastic, dark picture of a desolate place beautifully. This is how the ambient atmospheric pieces should be done!

The riffs on all War//Plague albums are pretty sludgy and heavy, but they are more sophisticated on this album. The drumming and bass sections are perfectly performed. All the songs are perfect!

Overall, I would suggest this band, and this album, to people who like old school Crust/Thrash, or the last three Darkthrone releases.
